This past weekend was spent in LA visiting my sister and her boyfriend Mark.

They just got a sweet little doggie, Lola, and wanted a couple of snaps of her. Here are just a couple of my favorites from our mini-shoot!

A few weeks ago, Kim and Jordan were married. With both a beautiful couple, wonderful ceremony and super fun reception to boot – I don’t think the day could have been more perfect! Kim put so much thought into every part of the wedding, especially the details which I had a blast photographing. I feel so fortunate to have been asked to participate in their special day, and I hope the pictures show this.

I loved that Kim chose to get ready at her own home. It made for some awesome pictures, and also makes the whole process much more comfortable and convenient for the bridal party.

Soon it was time to head over to the venue – Vintage Villas on Lake Travis. Even despite the cloudy day and drought we were in at the time (since over), this venue offers gorgeous views of the lake. Additionally, they have hotels and lodging which makes it convenient for both the night of your wedding as well as out of town guests.

In case you didn’t see this picture in my teaser post a couple weeks ago, I had to include it again. This is definitely one of my favorite shots from the day. Kim was just STUNNING.

Flowers were amazing – created by Bouquets of Austin.

At the end of their ceremony, Kim + Jordan did a dove release. It was the first time I’ve ever experienced it at a wedding and thought it a really cool tradition! These are homing doves, so I was happy to learn that once released, they are trained to fly right back home :)

THEN it was portrait time!! Kim bought her ladies (and guests) these awesome parasols which I just HAD to use in some photos. They made for great props.

Then it was party time! In that this was a daytime wedding, Kim and Jordan’s family and friends really know how to party! DJ Chicken George was in attendance and rocked the house! He’s by far my favorite DJ in town!!

Their first dance was choreographed (I think they did it on their own) and so SO good!

Jordan is a musician and some of his friends and former band mates surprised them with a performance of Al Green’s Simply Beautiful – I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room (myself included).

A couple of ring shots:

Can you see me?

Instead of a cake, they got yummy treats from Hey Cupcake!

And lastly, a farewell with bubbles!!

Thanks again for choosing me as your photographer Kim + Jordan! I wish you nothing but the best life together :)

FINALLY! I know, I know! I’m way WAY behind on blogging… If only you guys really knew…

Anyway, at long last here’s the rest of Carly + Matt’s wedding.

Let’s see, where did we leave off? Oh yeah – so Carly and Matt got hitched. After the lovely reception, we squeezed in some portraits:

The guys all wore matching Chuck’s which I loooove. At my own wedding we got all the guys Vans sneakers as their gift and they were a big hit – the gift that keeps on giving! Even boys appreciate nice shoes. : )

Then it was party time!!!

This wedding was unlike any I had previously attended. Matt plays guitar with a funk band, Uncle Bruno, and they performed at the reception -

Then… Carly joined Matt up on stage and they sang a duet together which was so, SO sweet.

That’s Mean Rachel in the photo above, holding the lyrics for Matt – many thanks again to her for referring me : )

Just when I thought the wedding couldn’t get any cooler, the party turned into an open mic night! There was so much talent between all of their friends and Carly’s family. It was really, truly, awesome.

That’s Carly’s dad playing Harmonica above. Yes, he’s a true harmonica-ist (is there a term for this? Harpist?). In fact, he has one in every key. I had no idea that there were different Harmonicas for different keys. I’m sure there’s a lot about Harmonica’s that I don’t know. One fun fact that I am aware of though – did you know that Abraham Lincoln used to carry around a harmonica in his pocket?

Thank you Carly + Matt for having me at your wedding to capture all of the moments on your special day! It was such a memorable wedding and I truly had a blast!

I leave you all with some fun ring shots. I’m in LOVE with Carly’s ring set.

Thanks again to Nadia Caffesse of Full Tilt Photography for coming out to be my second shooter!

A very special blog post for a very special couple.

Carly and Matt were referred to me by a dear friend, Mean Rachel. You might remember their lovely faces from their engagement portrait session. Well, their wedding was a few weeks ago, and was absolutely lovely. Family and friends from all over the country traveled to Austin for their special day. The event took place at House on the Hill which is great in that you can rent it for a week/weekend and it includes accommodations too!

Huge, HUGE thanks to Nadia Caffesse who came along as my second shooter for the day.

I had so many favorites that I’m splitting their sneak preview into two parts. I know they’re eager to see some pictures, so I won’t waste any time with much chit chat.

Carly’s friend did the up-do’s for all the girls. She did a spectacular job, especially on Carly’s hair which was amazing

While the girls were busy getting ready, the guys were also hanging out -

Matt has magical powers.

Major props to Nadia who caught the shot below.

Next up: their ROCKIN’ reception…
